Day 3: Just Can’t Get Enough (Depeche Mode)/Arthur Hills and Heather
Normally it seems we start our morning on the Heather and
end on the Hills. Today, it’s reverse so we head to the Highlands in the
morning for breakfast -- with a strategic rendezvous with Frank and their cabin
in front of the Lodge, stopping at 7-11 on the way (one of my coffee rituals).
Buffet breakfast then drive over to Hills to tee off. Today I’m playing with Pete, Ron and Cory -- Tom and Frank and Paul and Jeff are in the group behind us (we figured out that Jeff is the one slowing down the pace of play). Cory is looking to string two shots in a row together (excluding putts). He does so on the first hitting the fairway, then just off the green -- and sinking the putt for his first birdie in Michigan. Follows up with a par. I then offer him some Baileys for his coffee and it doesn’t do his game justice (he says it’s my fault). But I par the third for a net birdie to match Pete’s birdie so we’re still up on the match.
I go out of my head
And I just can't get enough
And I just can't get enough
All the things you do to me
And everything you said
I just can't get enough
I just can't get enough
We slip and slide as we fall in love
And I just can't seem to get enough of
We walk together
We're walking down the street
And I just can't get enough
And I just can't get enough
Every time I think of you
I know we have to meet
And I just can't get enough
And I just can't get enough
It's getting hotter, it's a burning love
And I just can't seem to get enough of
And when it rains
You're shining down for me
And I just can't get enough
And I just can't get enough
Just like a rainbow
You know you set me free
And I just can't get enough
And I just can't get enough
You're like an angel and you give me your love
And I just can't seem to get enough of
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough
Just can't seem to get enough

Talk of what a provisional mulligan is on the next hole. Ron’s
not a big fan of them, especially since Cory finds his ball and plays it. Doesn’t
matter anyway since Ron didn’t do a good job on the hole and I think I won it.
The marshal comes up to me and asks if we played this hole “a little faster
than the last.”
End our day and then off to the Bob In Again! Tom and I are
so excited. The rest, not so much. Mint Oreo is the flavor of the day so a Bear
Claw it is. A few order food as well. Then back to the cabins. Keep looking at
the weather and Tuesday doesn’t look good weather wise. Tom makes a decision
and calls and changes our tee times for Tuesday at Bay Harbor -- moving it to
Wednesday. Means we will be ditching Black Lake and Elkridge -- but, we won’t
be rained out on Bay Harbor day (not possible) -- and, we have later tee time.
And, we have more time on the patio for lunch! Wednesday is now Liz’s day.
Tom, Jeff and Cory head over to Frank’s -- and I head to
bed, putting on an Icy Hot backwrap (two reasons -- loosen my back and to get
warm because Cory has cranked the AC and it’s at about 59 degrees in the
house).
