Mapping it out!
Working on our May trip to Tennessee.
Our first night, halfway there with a stop and stay in Meridien, Mississippi. It's just too much of a beating to try and do the 900+ miles in a day.
This year, we’re going to do a couple days trip to Virginia and West Virginia, to add to our states ridden list (VA and WV will bring it to 21 states).
On the way from Tennessee, we’re going to do the Snake (421) and the Back of the Dragon (16) (Back of the Dragon). Set up shop in Bluefield at the hopefully okay Comfort Inn (not many options, but the TripAdvisor reviews were decent). Then head up to see the New River Gorge Bridge (NPS - New River Gorge Bridge) . Come back and do the Talon (60). Haven’t figured out the ride back to Maryville, Tennessee.

Side by side: Butler (I think it was about $25 for it, including shipping) and Freeman (free in stores, but I ordered online and shipping was about $15). |
While watching the Masters, worked on the routes – using my trusty new Freeman Map (Freeman Map Store ) and Butler Map (Butler Maps). And Tony’s found a new map routing tool called Furkot (Furkot).
States to date that we’ve ridden in (I’ve hit 47 states so far
and 27 states to golf in):
- Texas
- Oklahoma
- Arkansas
- Missouri
- Illinois
- Wisconsin
- Michigan
- Indiana
- Tennessee
- North
Carolina
- Georgia
- Kentucky
- Alabama
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- Colorado
- Wyoming
- South
Dakota
- Montana
Count down to the trip starts now!
