August Golf

It's official: we are not going to Michigan this year for our annual golf trip. Instead: Wisconsin (www.wisconsin.com). Get ready for some new posts (and pictures) and a comparison to Michigan when it's all said and done. When we figured we could save $200 each on airfare by flying to Milwaukee, the Wisconsin trip we have spoken about became a reality Trip begins July 31 and ends August 7.

Fun Facts About Wisconsin
  • Wisconsin's dairy farms produce more milk than any other state (YUM, cheese and ICE CREAM).
  • Famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland Center. Today places like Wausau boast a number of Wright's designs.
  • The Green Bay Packers are actually owned by the city of Green Bay and have a massive waitlist for season tickets.
  • Wisconsin is nicknamed the "Badger State", but this refers not to the state animal but to its early miners who often lived like badgers, beneath ground.
The planning begins now that our flights are booked. It's a bit sad that we won't be playing Bay Harbor, or Forest Dunes. But, it's good to have a new adventure. Just more planning because it is hard to come up with two different courses each day for a week.

Stay tuned for more as we plan. The great reps at Appleton, Neenah and Sappi have been helping provide lists of courses so that we can build the trip.
